Dear Parents/Guardians-

Welcome Back! With the days of summer slowly winding down it won't be long until your child steps through the doors of 4th grade. I have lots of fun and exciting things planned this you for not only your child but you as parents.

As you know the first day of school consists of a getting to know you conference. In the papers attached there is a time on Monday September 3rd that you and your child will come in and we can get to know each other better. This is the same thing that has happened in years past. It allows the child to make a connection with who their teacher is and also establishes a parent - to - teacher relationship.  This will be about a half hour very informal getting to know you type of conference.

I truly believe that communication is the key to your child's success in school, and not only in my classroom. I encourage you to come to me with any concerns or comments you may have through out the year. I will also be communicating with you on a regular basis. I will contacting you weekly to highlight the things your child has accomplished in the week and things they need to work on at home.

I am a strong believer in inclusion. If you have a child with special needs I will include them in all the activities theirpeers are doing. Inclusion will ensure that your child is right there learning with the rest of the class. I do not believe in sending a child to the resource room to do work that we are doing together as a class, but rather bringing the help to them and letting them remain in the classroom.
